Every November, thousands of runners lace up their shoes and head to downtown Chicago for one of the sweetest races in the country — the Skechers Hot Chocolate Run. For the eighth year in a row, HQ Production Audio was proud to be the official audio provider, bringing the sound, energy, and excitement that make the event unforgettable.

Eight Years Strong

Since 2018, HQ Production Audio has worked closely with the race organizers to ensure every announcement, cheer, and song reaches runners and spectators alike. From the starting line countdown to the final finish-line celebration (complete with the famous hot chocolate and fondue), our team has been behind the scenes making sure everything sounds crystal clear.

“Being part of this event year after year is something we look forward to,” says Jen Hasik, owner of HQ Production Audio. “It’s more than a race. It’s a celebration of community, energy, and chocolate, and our job is to make sure that celebration is heard.”

Our technicians worked closely with event organizers, city officials, and production partners to deliver seamless sound across a wide footprint — no small task in the heart of Chicago.

From Setup to Finish Line

Preparation began days in advance, mapping out where speakers, power sources, and control stations would be placed. On race day, our crew was on-site before sunrise, testing systems and fine-tuning sound levels as the city woke up. Once the first runners hit the course, the adrenaline — and the audio — kept flowing.

By the time the last finisher crossed the line, the cheers, announcements, and music came together to create the vibrant energy that defines the Hot Chocolate Run experience.
